Research Consultations

Request an appointment with a subject librarian for one-on-one help with research. These typically last 15 minutes to an hour. Each department has a subject librarian assigned to it.


Ask a quick question of the Reference Desk during Library hours. Chat widgets are available on the Library website as well as in some library databases.

Text messaging (SMS)

Send the Reference Desk an SMS message from your phone during Library hours. Just text (773) 442-2758. Standard text messaging rates apply.
