What is Coursera Career Academy?
Coursera Career Academy is the global online learning platform that offers anyone, anywhere, access to asynchronous courses and credentials from the world's leading industries.
CBT Coursera Career Academy provides access to 450+ high-quality courses, guided projects, career resources, and in-demand credentials from state-of-the-science business and technology experts in an asynchronous format for flexible, accessible education.

Who can participate?
Current students, recent grads, and faculty/staff within the College of Business and Technology have complimentary access. An email directing students/faculty/staff will be sent through the College listserv. You can also request access using the links below. Any questions about access can be directed to coursera@neiu.edu.
Alumni and community partners have access to unlimited courses within Coursera Career Academy for a fraction of the cost of direct-to-individual clients:
- Recent CBT grads (one year out from graduation), click to request access
- 6-month access - $150
- 1-year access - $250 (a $50 savings!)
Once payment is received through the Activenet links, or the recent grads form above, you will receive an email within three-five business days from coursera@neiu.edu with your personalized access link.

Who is allowed to use CBT Coursera Career Academy?
CBT current students. faculty/staff, and recent CBT grads are invited at no cost. CBT alumni and friends of the community participate at a discounted rate. The Coursera for Campus partnerships is made possible by CBT tuition differential, which supports specialized programs and initiatives that require additional resources to deliver an enhanced educational experience for our students.
Will I receive course credit from CBT Coursera Career Academy on my official college transcript by completing a course?
At this time, courses and specializations provided on Coursera are not credit-bearing within CBT, and will not provide college transcript credit. The certificate provided is through Coursera only, but do add this to your resume and LinkedIn profile. Some of the ACE-certified courses can be reviewed for credit by Non-traditional Degree programs.
How much does it cost to take a course or earn a course certificate on Coursera?
All of the CBT-provided Coursera courses and specializations, with the corresponding certificate, are at no cost for current CBT students/faculty/staff/recent CBT grads. Access and course certificates are offered at a discounted rate for alumni/community when using Coursera through the CBT portal.
How are CBT Coursera Career Academy classes formatted? Do I have to show up at a certain time?
All of the classes are asynchronous, so that you can review content anywhere and at any time. Some Coursera courses have a syllabus that indicates additional expectations.
What if I already have an account?
Please submit a ticket to Coursera directly to have your accounts merged.
