Career Preparation Series

The College of Business and Management encourages Northeastern Illinois University students to participate in the following Career Preparation Series events before or during their junior year. These events are offered on campus each semester.  For more information, dates, and to RSVP please call (773) 442-6104.

Part 1: Resume Seminar (2 hours)

This session focuses on writing a cover letter and a resume. Students learn what to do, what not to do, and have an opportunity to get answers to resume and cover letter related questions. Students should bring a paper copy of a draft resume with them. As part of the learning process, they will evaluate another student’s resume and provide a critique.

Students may attend one or all sessions. Reservations recommended; walk-ins welcome.

Part 2: Interviewing Seminar (2 hours)

This session focuses on pre-interview research, interviewing in person, phone interviews, Skype video interviews, job search etiquette and networking. Reservations recommended; walk-ins welcome. 

Part 3: Practice Interviews (30 minutes)

This session provides students an opportunity to complete a practice interview with a professional. Reservations strongly recommended. 

Part 4: College Of business and Management Career fair
