Chicago Clarinet Ensemble

Founded by Dr. Rose Sperrazza, the Chicago Clarinet Ensemble (CCE) is in residence at Northeastern Illinois University. The ensemble ranges in size from two to more than 35 players, and has appeared at the Chicago Humanities Festival, Looptopia Chicago, Simpson College, Chicago’s Merit School of Music, the University of Iowa, Clarinet Fest 2012 in Lincoln, Nebraska, in numerous broadcasts on Chicago’s WFMT, and in many outreach concerts. Ensemble Español

The Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater, under the artistic leadership of founder Dame Libby Komaiko, Associate Artistic Drector Irma Suarez-Ruiz and Executive Director Jorge Perez, is the premier Spanish Dance Company and Center in the United States in-residence at Northeastern Illinois University’s Department of Music and Dance. The company’s mission is the preservation, presentation and promotion of the classical, folkloric, flamenco and contemporary dance and music traditions of Spain. The Ensemble Español, founded in 1976 by Dame Libby, is comprised of 40 dancers, singers, musicians and guest artists.

Ruth Page Dance Series

Northeastern Illinois University sponsors performances by the Ruth Page Dance Series each year. The Ruth Page Center for the Arts has been training professional dancers, presenting and promoting the finest dance performances in the city, as well as mentoring small to mid-sized arts organizations who call the center home, for nearly 40 years. Founded by Chicago icon and internationally-renowned performer and choreographer Ruth Page, the center reflects her vision of supporting dance excellence in Chicago.
