All classes, workshops and the Health Fair will take place in the P.E. Complex. Classes and workshops are capped at 20 participants. Advance sign-up is strongly recommended for all. Non-NEIU members are required to complete the sign-up form prior to attending activities.

Functional Strength and Mobility

Noon-1 p.m.
Studio 2

This training prevents injury and improves movement inside and outside of the gym. 

Beginner Striking

1:30-2:30 p.m.
Studio 2

This Beginner Striking class will cover the fundamentals of traditional striking techniques. 

Beginner Yoga

1:40-2:40 p.m.
Studio 1

This course will lead you through a spiritual exercise where you will practice breathing, bodily postures and meditation. 

Spin Class

3-3:30 p.m.
Studio 2

This class involves using an exercise bicycle to work on endurance and strength through a high intensity interval workout. 

Zumba

3-4 p.m.
Studio 1

Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance that will get your heart rate up and boost your endurance. 

Mindfulness Meditation

4-5 p.m.
Studio 1

Mindfulness is the practice of slowing down and noticing one's bodily sensations and perceptions. By accepting these thoughts and sensations, we can feel more relaxed, present and self-loving in our lives.

CPR Refresher

10-11 a.m.
Room PE 2104

Student Health Services will lead this short overview of the fundamentals of CPR. This class does not provide a certification. This session is only available for currently enrolled NEIU students. 

The Importance of Organ Donation

11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Room PE 2105

Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network will lead a workshop on the importance of organ donation. This session will include details about the organ and tissue donation process and information on how to become an organ and tissue donor.  

Health Insurance 101   

1-2 p.m.
Room PE 2105

Hamdard Health Alliance will lead this workshop covering basic information about health insurance and how insurance plans are structured. 

Violence Prevention

2:30-3:30 p.m.
Room PE 2105

NEIU’s K(NO)W More team will lead a bystander intervention workshop that will cover the topics of consent, how to recognize violence and intervention strategies.
