Dr. Isidore A. Udoh

What is most interesting or unique about your research?

I believe my research is unique and interesting because it enables me to interact first-hand with individuals and communities who are directly caught up in the toxic confluence of desertification, violence, oil pollution, and climate change in Nigeria. I have had the privilege of collaborating with many of these people/communities to reflect on the sources of these challenges and to develop and implement bottom-up solutions.

What do you value most about being part of GHRAD?

I value the potential and opportunities that GHRAD holds. We cannot underestimate the power of collaboration and interdisciplinarity, as challenges become increasingly complex in our world.

What originally drew you to your field of study?

I was drawn and still inspired by the desire to participate in the defense of social and environmental justice. I have been blessed to work with colleagues during my career who share the same desire.
