Ways to Give

There are a variety of ways to make your end-of-year gift. Please consider the following guidelines if you want your gift to count as a 2025 contribution for tax purposes:

Online

Give online. A 2025 tax receipt will be issued for any gift received by Dec. 31, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. CST.

Give using Zelle. If your bank is set up with Zelle, you can make a donation to the NEIU Foundation right from your bank's own app and no fees are charged. Just designate your gift to neiufoundation@neiu.edu. Please remember to review and add a memo indicating which fund within the NEIU Foundation you would like to support before hitting “confirm" on the Zelle app.

By phone

Call (773) 442-4210. A 2025 gift receipt will be issued for any gift intention left on our voicemail by Dec. 31, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. CST. Please note that credit card donations can be made at neiu.edu/giving.

If you are at least 70.5 years old, you may direct a distribution from an IRA as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). For those age 73 or older, a QCD may also count toward your required minimum distribution (RMD) from an IRA. You pay no income tax on the transfer, and you may reduce your taxable income for 2025. To direct a QCD, checks must be payable directly to the NEIU Foundation (Tax ID is 23-7034689) and should be sent to the NEIU Foundation at 5500 North St. Louis Ave., Chicago, Illinois 60625.

As always, please consult your financial advisor or tax preparer, and visit IRS.gov for more information. Visit the NEIU Giving website to make a year-end contribution to the NEIU Foundation.
