We Hire Students
ASC provides free, peer-led learning support for all NEIU students.
Academic Support Center (ASC) tutors are graduate and undergraduate students who are recommended by faculty and carefully selected on the basis of their own academic achievement and interpersonal communication skills. All tutors are trained, supervised and supported in their role as tutors. Working as an ASC tutor is a wonderful opportunity for NEIU students to apply their knowledge and learning skills and make a difference by helping other students succeed academically at NEIU.
Tutors can be hired as Graduate Assistant Tutors, compensated with tuition waiver(s) and a stipend as managed by the College of Graduate Studies and Research, or as student aides or Work-Study positions according to Student Employment's requirements and earning $15 an hour.
ASC is no longer accepting applications for Fall 2026. The deadline for Fall 2026 positions is past. We will begin recruiting for Spring 2027 positions in mid-October. Please check back at that time to explore open positions, job descriptions, and application forms.
