Information for Faculty and Advisors
The Academic Support Center (ASC), formerly known as Learning Success Center / Center for Academic Writing (LSC/CAW) provides free, peer-led learning support for all NEIU students.
Faculty and advisors play an important role in educating students about resources available to them. There are several ways that faculty and advisors can encourage students to utilize the peer-led learning support available to all NEIU students:
- Faculty can decide to include the ASC information that is included in the NEIU syllabus template for their college (GCOE, CBT, and CAS ).
- Faculty and advisors can raise Tutoring Referrals for undergraduate students in NEIUStar, during the scheduled progress surveys or any time they feel a student would benefit from learning support
- Faculty and advisors can talk to students about the benefits of working with a tutor
