Complete your application and receive an admission letter
-
Submit additional documents to receive an I-20 document
-
Use the I-20 to apply for a visa appointment at a US Consulate
-
Receive the F-1 visa
-
Enter the US and begin studying
Here is an International Student Life Cycle infographic created by Study in the States, which may help you understand the step by step process in obtaining an F-1 visa.
If you are already in the US on an F-1 visa at another school, here are the steps you need to take:
-
Complete your application and receive an admission letter
-
Submit your passport and financial documents
-
Ask the DSO at your current school to complete a Transfer Verification Form
