GENERAL INFORMATION

The Chemistry Department continues to fulfill its program mission in becoming a department well known in the Chicagoland area for its strong M.S. program.  The Separation Science Emphasis curriculum provides appropriate background for students planning careers in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food industries. Its strength is demonstrated by the placement of our students into the workforce before or shortly after graduation.  Some recent placement of graduates from this program is listed below.

The Chemical Education Emphasis program is designed to serve middle and high school teachers with a bachelor degree in chemistry that have already obtained teacher certification.  Graduates of the program will become highly qualified teachers trained in advanced chemistry and science teaching methods.  They will also be well prepared to conduct research on chemical education or teach at 2-year colleges.
