I was eager to make a career change and counseling seemed like the best option for me to fulfill my passion for helping others. I searched for a reasonably priced program that was CACREP accredited and NEIU was my first choice; it was close to me and had a solid reputation. My MA in Counseling from NEIU opened doors for me that I never imagined. I went on to build a successful career as a mental health counselor and I earned my PhD. I am now a program director of a new graduate counseling program and the lessons I learned at NEIU still serve me well. I can only hope that I prepare our students as well as NEIU prepared me!
