I joined SGA and have become the President of the Feminist Club, and both experiences have been extremely rewarding. Through these roles, I have had the opportunity to advocate for students, listen to their concerns, and help create spaces where they feel seen, heard, and valued.
I’m a psychology major, and I love it, because I love understanding people, so this all ties in together.
I have grown at NEIU in so many ways. One of the biggest areas of growth for me has been public speaking. Being President of the Feminist Club has helped me develop this skill. Public speaking was not always something I felt confident doing, but this experience pushed me outside of my comfort zone and has lead me to become a stronger and more confident speaker.
These experiences have also helped me grow as a leader and taught me the importance of using my voice to make a positive impact on my campus community. NEIU is the right choice for me because I can be loved here for truly being myself.
