Originally NEIU stood out because of the affordability but after spending time here, it has offered me so many opportunities and connections. I have found mentors and made lifelong friends here.

The community here is close, personal, and there is a culture of care.

There are many great faculty members who take time out of their day to be support systems for me and other students. Many of them have gone above and beyond for me and become mentors. Programs like Project Success have helped me because of the intensive support they offer.

People like Dr. Scott and Ms. Erica Brown-Pierce have been pivotal in my development here at NEIU. Through the culture of care that Ms. Erica has offered through Project Success and the open door policy that Dr. Scott has at the Pedroso Center, they have both been able to help me grow into the person I am today.

Through the various leadership opportunities that are available to students I have become a better advocate since attending NEIU. It’s very easy here to make connections, friends, and find opportunities that can stick with you for life!
