About Northeastern Illinois University: Northeastern Illinois University’s Main Campus is located on 67 acres in a residential area on the Northwest Side of Chicago. The University has three additional locations in the metropolitan area: the Jacob H. Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies, El Centro and the Center for College Access and Success. Northeastern also is a founding member of the University Center of Lake County consortium campus in suburban Lake County, north of Chicago. Program: The Educational Leadership Program, in the Department of Literacy, Leadership, and Development of the Goodwin College of Education offers an M.A. in Educational Leadership. This degree is accompanied by a principal endorsement on the Illinois Professional Educator’s License. The endorsement qualifies graduates to be school principals, assistant principals, deans, department chairs, athletic directors, and other related positions.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in leadership grounded in current research at the main campus, satellite campuses, and at PK-12 school locations. Academic research and service to the department, college, university, and greater community are also required.

Required Qualifications: An earned doctorate in Administration or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution (ABD with completion by 9/1/2019 will be considered). Applicants must also have served as a principal in an elementary, middle or secondary school for at least two years and be PERA certified to evaluate instructional PK-12 teachers, staff and have or be eligible for an Illinois Professional Educator License with the Principal Endorsement or General Administrative Endorsement (formerly named Illinois TYPE 75). The candidate must be eligible to teach administrative internship classes. NEIU faculty are dedicated to the success of all students.
