Students in an apartment in The Nest residence hall

Tuesday, March 8, 2016

Northeastern Illinois University’s first residence hall will begin offering walking hardhat tours on Thursday, March 10. The Nest, which will open in August 2016, will offer the tours from 3-5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

“Northeastern’s students are in for a real treat,” Director of Housing Jessica Klingberg said. “The Nest is convenient for class and—as the tours will show—will give students the university experience they are looking for.”

Northeastern broke ground on The Nest on May 14, 2015, on the Main Campus. The residence hall, which will house 440 students, will contain typical amenities such as student lounges, game rooms and a fitness center. Every apartment will come furnished with a full kitchen, and every floor will have laundry facilities and private study rooms.

Tour registration is available on The Nest’s website. Prospective residents are eligible to enter into a monthly contest to win a $50 Visa gift card or an iPad Mini 4.

Tours also will be available for some special occasions, such as Northeastern’s Open House for prospective students on March 9.
