In accordance with the Illinois State Board of Education and the Illinois Administrative Code Section 25, Northeastern Illinois University now offers a Focus Program for teachers who hold current certification. The Focus Program allows certified teachers to obtain additional subsequent certifications in the area of Secondary English, History, Biology, or Math. Candidates who complete a full or “focused” subsequent certification program will be recommended for the certificate by entitlement.
