Join the Circle: A Q&A Discussion with Professionals Who Are Out From Different Employment Sectors

Are you curious about navigating your future career while staying true to your authentic self? Join the NEIU Office of Career Development and the Pedroso Center for our Spring 2026 "Out & Proud" career panel.

We’re breaking the "stage barrier" this year with a unique circular seating arrangement. Instead of a traditional panel, you’ll sit alongside out professionals from diverse sectors, including law, public safety, wellness, and mental health, to share stories, discuss industry trends, and explore what it means to lead an authentic professional life.

Join the Office of Career Development and Student Health Services for a workshop on best practices for getting started with investing. Laura Lopez from Chase Bank will share practical guidance on understanding investment basics, building long-term financial goals, and making informed decisions about your money. Whether you are new to investing or looking to strengthen your financial knowledge, this session will help you feel more confident about planning for your future.

The Office of Career Development will host a Careers in Environmental Science panel in collaboration with Junior Achievement. Five professionals working in environmental science will share their career paths, discuss their day-to-day work, and offer insights into the field. Students will also have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about different pathways into environmental careers.

Join us for a special panel discussion on Careers in Graphic Design on Thursday, September 18, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the Pedroso Center. This event is a unique opportunity to hear directly from working graphic designers who will share how they launched their careers, built their portfolios, and navigated the creative job market. Whether you are curious about freelancing, working at a design firm, or exploring opportunities in marketing, media, or tech, this panel will give you valuable insight into the diverse paths available in the field.

Our panelists will also talk about their journeys as artists, offering honest perspectives on the challenges and rewards of pursuing a career in design. Students will have the chance to ask questions, gain tips for breaking into the industry, and leave with a better sense of how to connect their creativity with career opportunities.

This session for young adults teaches the basics of budgeting and saving, empowering you to make the most of your money and confidently step into your financial future.

You’ll also explore how to align your money habits with your personal values, so your financial choices reflect what matters most to you.

If you're interested in software development, data, design, or project management, this event is a chance to explore the wide range of opportunities in tech and ask your own questions. You’ll walk away with practical advice and a clearer picture of how to start building your own path in the industry.

Join us at NEIU’s El Centro campus for a fast-paced Speed Networking event! Students will rotate through conversations with 12 professionals from journalism, tech, nonprofit, and other industries. It's an ideal way to sharpen your networking skills before the Career & Internship Fair!

After the speed networking rounds, stick around for a casual mixer where you can continue conversations and build connections with the professionals you meet. Space is limited to just 30 students, so be sure to register early to secure your spot!
