The Academy for Urban School Leadership (AUSL) is an equity-focused education nonprofit dedicated to improving educational outcomes for underserved students. Through its nationally recognized Chicago Teacher Residency Program, AUSL recruits and trains individuals from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about providing equitable education in under-resourced communities. Using a hands-on training model, Residents earn a Master's degree from DePaul University while gaining a year of practical classroom experience in a high-needs CPS school. With ongoing mentorship and support, Residents develop the skills necessary to become highly effective educators. No prior teaching experience or education degree is required.
