Request A Workshop
All of our workshops require at least three weeks of advance notice and should have at least five attendees. You and your organization are responsible for providing any required presentation equipment and technology on site. If you cannot provide the equipment, please let us know.
Most of our workshops are 60 minutes long and are ideal for classrooms, student employee meetings, and student organizations. Some workshops are offered as longer sessions through partnerships with campus and community organizations, allowing for additional time and more in-depth content or activities.
When your request is received, we will contact you via phone or email to coordinate and confirm the details of your workshop. Your request is not confirmed until you are contacted by one of Health Services' staff members.

Workshops
Dimensions of Wellness: Holistic Wellness
This 60-minute workshop explores the concept of “whole wellness” and how different areas of health work together to support a healthy, balanced lifestyle. Participants will identify their unique wellness needs, reflect on areas they may want to strengthen, and explore common health misconceptions that can impact everyday choices. By the end of the session, participants will create a personalized action plan with practical strategies to support their overall well-being.
K(NO)W MORE! Bystander Intervention
This 60-minute workshop explores why people may hesitate to intervene when they witness a concerning situation and provides practical tools to help participants respond with greater confidence. Participants will learn strategies for recognizing when someone may need support, assessing situations, and choosing safe and effective ways to step in or seek help. These skills can be applied to a wide range of situations, including alcohol and other drug use, relationship concerns, mental health challenges, and other situations where someone may be at risk.
Dog Therapy
This 60-minute session brings our puppy therapists, Ringo, Wolfgang, and Bao, to your event, classroom, or activity for a fun and engaging experience. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with the puppies, enjoy their calming presence, and learn about the benefits of animal-assisted engagement. This session is a great way to promote connection, stress relief, and positive well-being in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
NARCAN
This 60-minute workshop provides an overview of substance use, local trends, and best practices for responding to opioid and other drug-related emergencies. Participants will learn how to recognize the signs of poisoning and overdose, respond appropriately, administer NARCAN (naloxone), and connect individuals with emergency and community resources. Through practical guidance and real-world scenarios, participants will build confidence in responding to an overdose and leave with a supply of NARCAN for emergency preparedness.
Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches participants to recognize, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. Our blended workshop combines approximately 2 hours of self-paced online learning with a 4.5- to 5.5-hour instructor-led session, offered virtually or in person. Participants learn practical strategies for responding to crises, providing initial support, and connecting individuals with appropriate professional and community resources.
CPR and BLS American Heart Association
This 3-hour workshop teaches participants how to recognize life-threatening emergencies and respond confidently using high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants. Participants will learn how to use an AED, provide effective ventilations, relieve choking, and apply essential resuscitation skills through hands-on practice and realistic scenarios. Training follows the 2025 American Heart Association Guidelines and emphasizes effective teamwork and coordinated response during a cardiac or respiratory emergency.
