Northeastern Illinois University’s December 2015 Commencement ceremony is still a few days away, but the celebrations began Dec. 3 with the Academic Honors and Graduate Recognition ceremonies.

Ann Withey, who is earning her Master of Business Administration, reflected on her time at Northeastern by looking forward.

“What I would like to emphasize about what I’m taking away from the M.B.A. program is not only that these newly acquired skills can be applied directly in my current job—and potentially in future jobs—but also in life beyond my career,” she said during her speech at the Graduate Recognition Ceremony.

Withey is a financial analyst for a Chicago real estate management company who completed the M.B.A. program in two years.

“The content of the coursework was worthwhile and challenging; my professors were knowledgeable, engaging and available; and my classmates had a lot to offer, both in terms of sharing their professional experience and imparting their technical wisdom,” she said. “I look forward to applying what I’ve learned at NEIU. With my master’s degree, I feel better prepared to face the second half of my career.”

Northeastern’s Commencement ceremony is scheduled for Dec. 13 at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago. It will be streamed live online at neiu.edu.
