Now in its 18th year, Northeastern Illinois University’s Jewel Box Series returns for the 2017-18 season with a new, diverse lineup of artists from all over the world to perform in the acoustically superior Recital Hall and spacious Auditorium.

The eight-concert series will begin Sept. 29, and offers music from a variety of genres through May 18, 2018.

“The 2017-18 Jewel Box Series is one of our most diverse series yet. It begins with the Gypsy jazz of the Rhythm Future Quartet and includes classical artists such as the Chiara String Quartet and Chicago native and acting principal flute of the Metropolitan Opera orchestra DeMarre McGill,” Office of Cultural Events Director Christie Miller said. “The Rastrelli Cello Quartet returns to Northeastern after their sold-out performance in 2008, and the Septura Brass of London will make their Jewel Box Series debut. There's also bluegrass, Irish music and modern dance!”

Tickets are $10, $17.50 and $25, and will be available online beginning July 17. Four- and eight-concert subscriptions are also available at the NEIU Information Center and Box Office or by calling (773) 442-4636.
