POSITION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

The Department of Mathematics invites applications for one (1) tenure-track position beginning August, 2016, contingent on funding. An earned doctorate in statistics or mathematics, with training in statistics, is required at the time of the appointment.

We seek candidates who will take an active role in teaching and curriculum development in support of our undergraduate and graduate programs in applied mathematics I statistics and maintain a high level of scholarly achievement. Preference will be given to candidates with training/experience in actuarial and/or applied statistics. Candidates must be willing and able to teach courses in all levels of graduate and undergraduate programs, conduct research consistent with the standards of Northeastern Illinois University, and contribute to the department, the university, and the community. The University attaches a high importance to excellence in teaching,scholarly research,and service,however primary emphasis is given to teaching. Applicants must show evidence of potentialfor effective teaching, excellent communication skills, scholarly achievement, and commitment to curriculum development.  Strong inter-disciplinary research interest in related fields is a plus.
