Who is invited?
Our event is designed to welcome incoming freshman and transfer students who will begin classes at NEIU in Fall 2026. Current student workers, faculty and staff will welcome you to the University.
How Do I Register for the Event? Can I Bring Guests?
This event is specifically for first-year and new transfer students, so we ask that you do not bring guests.

Golden Eagle Welcome Day Schedule
Friday, Aug. 21, 2026
11:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- 11:00 - 11:30 a.m. — Check-in
- 11:30 a.m. — Welcome from the Northeastern community
- Noon — Lunch (provided)
- 12:30 p.m. — Meet fellow new students in a fast, fun way with Playfair
- 2:00 p.m. — Student Organization and Resource Fair, intramurals, “Where are my classes?" tours, dessert receptions
- 4:00 p.m. Program ends
Where is Golden Eagle Welcome Day taking place?
This year's Golden Eagle Welcome Day will kick-off in Alumni Hall on the Main Campus, 5500 North St. Louis Avenue in Chicago. See the Campus Map and Directions page for information on how to get here.
What will we be doing?
Activities for the day include welcome
Scholarship opportunity and other prizes
All newly admitted NEIU students in attendance will be entered into a drawing for exciting prizes, including a chance to win a $500 scholarship!
