Northeastern Illinois University has selected Communication, Media and Theatre (CMT) major Javonti Mordican as its 2022 Lincoln Academy Student Laureate.

Acknowledging the myriad of challenges students faced, Durbin referred to the Northeastern Illinois University Class of 2022 as “incredible.” 

Chicago area students are invited to attend the Chicago River Student Congress on Feb. 24. 
 

Northeastern Illinois University will host the international art exhibit “Mom, I don’t want war.”

The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded Northeastern Illinois University a $121,000 grant through the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program titled The Chicago STEM Teaching Collaborative.

Northeastern Illinois University was selected as a 2022 Progress, Accomplishment, Thriving, Hope (PATH) Scholarship recipient through the Ellucian Foundation. The award comes with $10,000 to support students facing economic hardship. 

Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theatre, in residence at Northeastern, will present its Holiday Concert on Dec. 15 in the Auditorium on the Main Campus. 

This year’s award recipients, Asha Brown (Sociology) and Prentice Hills (Social Work), will discuss meaning of social justice on April 3.

“Our World” will be performed at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 2 at the Black Ensemble Theater, 4450 N. Clark St. in Chicago, and 3 p.m. Monday, May 6 on the Main Campus. The performance is free and open to the public.

Velma Elba and Gladie Ngiama have been named scholarship recipients of the Western Union Global Scholars Program.
