Honors Students on Campus

The University Honors Program (UHP) has a number of resources available only to UHP students in good academic standing in the program. To stay in good academic standing in the UHP, to maintain eligibility for UHP scholarships and resources, and to be eligible to complete the UHP, all students must maintain a cumulative Northeastern Illinois University grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 and a GPA of 3.0 in UHP courses. To be considered for any of these scholarships, you must be admitted to Northeastern and to the UHP.

UHP Merit Tuition Scholarships

These academic scholarships are the UHP’s most substantial material resource, and with them we recognize the outstanding promise of our incoming freshmen as well as the academic excellence of our continuing UHP students and new transfer students. Many UHP students earn awards from the UHP and from their prospective college.

Scholarships range from 6 to 24 credit hours for the academic year (from 3 to 12 credit hours per semester) at the in-state tuition rate. They cover in-state tuition only. The deadline to apply is July 15.

As a UHP member in good academic standing in the program, you are eligible to apply annually for a UHP Merit Tuition Scholarship.

You must maintain good academic standing and progress in UHP coursework in the year the award is granted. Award may be forfeited if either of these terms is not met.
