The Goodwin College of Education will once again host the Jean Burke Carlson and Diane Berger Ehrlich Memorial Lectureship in Fall 2025. This year’s lecture will be presented by the Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education (CAPE) on November 13, 2025 at 6 p.m. in the NEIU Auditorium.

The presentation, entitled "What Learning Matters? Generative Tensions and Transformative Inquiry through Arts Integration," will showcase CAPE's research-based arts-driven education model that enhances student academic achievement through collaborative partnerships between classroom teachers and professional artists.

Featured speakers will include Mark Diaz and Dr. Teju Adesida (CAPE Associate Directors), researchers Dr. Louanne Smolin and Dr. Erin Preston, and classroom practitioners Luz Santellano (5th Grade Science Teacher, Durkin Elementary) and Niema Qureshi (Teaching Artist).

The lecture will explore how arts integration creates transformative learning opportunities by breaking down disciplinary boundaries and engaging students in inquiry-based practices that connect academic content to real-life experiences.

Please RSVP by Thursday, November 7, 2025 using this Google Form.
