Audition Dates for Fall 2026 Mainstage at Stage Center Theatre 

Stage Center Theatre (SCT) is excited to hold auditions from 6:00-7:30p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1 and Wednesday, Sept 2 in room F 109 for our upcoming fall productions:

  • NUEVAS VOCES: NEIU’S 10 Minute Play Fest of Prize Winning Plays!

  • POTUS: or, Behind Every Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive” by Selina Fillinger. 

NEIU alumnus Sade Cooley returns to direct Nuevas Voces and Bramble Theatre Producing Director Dan Washelesky joins SCT again following his smash production of Black Bear Island to guide POTUS. SCT productions seek to bridge our classroom to the professional theatre community and aim to raise the bar for intersectional and radically inclusive theatre making.

Fall In-Person Auditions

  • 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. - Tuesday, September 1, and Wednesday, December 2.

  • Appointments will be in 7 minute slots. 

  • ALL Callbacks: To be determined by the directors. 


Instructions To Schedule An Audition In-Person or to arrange a self-tape:

Auditions will be held in 7-minute slots by appointment or by self-tape.  Walk-ins are welcome, but scheduling ahead is preferred!!  

A:  To schedule your audition:

  1. Please email neiuauditions@gmail.com to reserve your slot. Please make sure to include your preferred time slot in your request.

  2. Proceed to the Audition Materials Folder CLICK HERE and follow the below instructions.

  3. Please review the casting breakdown below these instructions regarding casting specifics.

  4. Choose the appropriate audition sides from the materials folder for the character for whom you’d like to audition. Note: You do NOT need to be memorized for the audition. If a character has more than one audition scene, please prepare all options given in your folder.

  5. We encourage you to read the script in advance.

  6. Please fill out our Audition Info Form prior to your audition. Please review all production dates carefully and include conflicts to the best of your ability.

 

B. To complete your audition:

  1. We will provide you with sides (short cuts of scenes from the play or from multiple plays) via a Google Drive link for you to prepare in depth in advance after you make your appointment by emailing neiuauditions@gmail.com.

 

C. Need to Self-Tape?

  1.  Unable to join us on those dates/times? You may submit a "self-tape" audition to the team. Follow the above instructions for material and then submit a video audition to neiuauditions@gmail.com. Please make sure that audio is clear and that the background is neutral, and solid (like a plain wall or a solid color sheet. Self-tapes ideally should be shot either in shoulders up closeup format or in three-quarters length from the knees up based on your space and preference. If using a phone to record, please record horizontally
