Northeastern Illinois University El Centro Campus Forges Community Partnership with Korean American Community Services
CHICAGO—Today Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) and Korean American Community Services held a ceremony to mark the beginning of a new formal partnership between the two institutions. Sharon Hahs, president of Northeastern Illinois University, and Inchul Choi executive director of Korean American Community Services, ceremoniously signed a partnership agreement at the event held this morning at the Korean American Community Services offices on Chicago’s Northwest Side.

Northeastern receives credit upgrade from Moody’s
Northeastern Illinois University has received a three-notch upgrade to its credit rating from Moody’s Investors Service. This marks a significant turnaround in the financial outlook of the University.

U.S. Department of Education awards $5 million grant to Northeastern Illinois University
The U.S. Department of Education has awarded Northeastern Illinois University a five-year, $5 million Hispanic-Serving Institutions - Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (HSI - STEM) and Articulation Program grant to increase the number of students who complete STEM majors and contribute to diversifying the STEM workforce.

Northeastern names Kamau Rashid as Founding Director of the Ed.D. in Urban Education
Beginning Fall 2021, Rashid will work alongside colleagues in the Goodwin College of Education, as well as others across the campus, to design and implement Northeastern's new Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) in Urban Education Program.
