Computer Science Foundation Scholarship
The Computer Science Foundation Scholarship recognizes outstanding students who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and meaningful contributions to the Department of Computer Science. The scholarship supports students who have distinguished themselves through their academic achievements, service to the department, research, technical projects, and other professional accomplishments.
Each scholarship recipient will receive a $750 award. Up to five scholarships may be awarded each year, subject to the availability of funding.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Have completed at least 12 credit hours prior to submitting their application.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.
Selection Criteria
Eligible applicants will be evaluated through a holistic review based on the following criteria:
- Academic performance and overall academic standing.
- Leadership and contributions within the Department of Computer Science.
- Relevant research, technical projects, internships, or professional accomplishments.
- Awards and honors, including departmental, college, university, or external recognition.
- Faculty recommendation, addressing the applicant's qualifications and potential for success.
Scholarship recipients will be selected based on their overall accomplishments and demonstrated excellence across the above criteria.
Application Materials
A complete application must include the following:
- Unofficial transcript demonstrating eligibility.
- Current résumé highlighting academic achievements, leadership, research, projects, internships, employment, service, honors, and other relevant accomplishments.
- Personal statement (500–750 words) describing your academic and career goals, contributions to the Department of Computer Science, and why you should be considered for the scholarship.
- One letter of recommendation from a Computer Science faculty member addressing your academic performance, leadership, character, and potential for future success.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Application Timeline
The application period and submission deadline will be announced each scholarship cycle. Students will receive an email notification with application instructions and important dates prior to the opening of the application period.
