Digital Note-taking Recording Software Services

SDS has moved away from peer-to-peer note-taking and migrated students to state-of-the-art recording software for note-taking, which students can start using immediately.

Student that have been approved for use of a digital device, or software to record lectures, and have completed their intake for accommodations meeting with their SDS Specialist are expected to follow the expectations of responsible notetaking recording usage listed below:

  • Students approved for recording notetaking software may use their laptops or
phones to record their course lecture
  • Notetaking recording apps are to be used only for notetaking
  • Students cannot share or publish their recordings
  • Students may not record freeform conversations when other students are not
    taking notes
  • Students may not record freeform conversations where there is sensitive, or confidential material is discussed

Student that have been approved for use of a digital device or software to record lectures are strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment for a brief training on how to use the digital note-taking recording software effectively.

You can schedule a virtual appointment with Fernando Riascos at f-riascos@neiu.edu.
