Dr. Flener died on May 25, 2026. A celebration of life will be held in July.

The University commemorated the milestone — and shared an exciting update on the program’s future — with a gathering of faculty, staff, students and alumni.

The University community and general public are invited to celebrate Pride Month with a special event on June 24.

In addition to the three promotions of associate professors, 17 faculty members were awarded promotion to professor and two were approved for Professional Advancement Increases.

The University congratulated over 160 faculty, staff and administrators who marked milestone years of employment at Northeastern and honored three employees for outstanding contributions.
