Northeastern Illinois University welcomes three DFI Fellows
Northeastern Illinois University is hosting three Diversifying Higher Education Faculty in Illinois (DFI) fellows during the 2020-21 academic year. This State of Illinois program is designed to increase the number of minority, full-time, tenure-track faculty and staff who work in the state’s public and private colleges and universities.
Noteworthy at Northeastern: Expanding offerings, focusing on inclusion
The College of Arts and Sciences has made name changes to two departments as well as a major and a minor to highlight new course offerings. Students can continue to register for the New Multicultural Student Orientation sessions and remote Safe Zone Training sessions for faculty begin next week. In May of 2014, Claudia Hernandez earned her bachelor’s degree in social work from Northeastern Illinois University. It was the first major step in realizing her lifelong goal of becoming a social worker—a goal born from tragedy.
