Northeastern Illinois University student Jaqueline “Jackie” Ortiz-Basave is pursuing a master’s degree in School Counseling to ensure future generations of students get the support they deserve. 

Commencement will be held on Dec. 14, 2025.

The University’s Fred Hampton Scholarship honors the late activist and organizer by empowering students to continue his commitment to education and service.
