Short-Term Programs

SAELL offers part-time English and Chicago cultural immersion programs. For one to four weeks, participants come to our main campus in Chicago to join SAELL Intensive English Program students from diverse countries in their classes. 

Short term programs include:

  • 12-16 hours per week of instruction in Listening & Speaking and Reading & Writing skills with classmates from around the world
  • Weekly visits to world-famous cultural attractions in Chicago such as Millennium Park, the Chicago Cultural Center, the Art Institute of Chicago, Lincoln Park Zoo, and more
  • Accommodations in a modern, furnished campus apartments with a private bedroom and a full kitchen
  • Airport transfer on specified arrival and departure dates
  • A pass for unlimited use of public transportation (Chicago Transit Authority buses and trains)
  • A welcome meal and a farewell meal
  • Certificate of participation at the conclusion of the program

As this is a part-time program, participants can enter the USA on a B1/B2 tourist visa or ESTA. NEIU does not issue the Form I-20 or DS-2019 for these short-term programs.

Not included in the cost of the program:

  • visa or ESTA application fees
  • medical insurance for travelers
  • airfare
