Pedro Covarrubias

Pedro Covarrubias is a higher education professional and Master of Arts candidate at Northeastern Illinois University, with a background in Communication from the University of Illinois Chicago. He currently serves as a Student Engagement and Belonging Advisor at NEIU, where he supports student community through advising, event coordination, and managing El Centro's outreach and social media presence. With experience spanning digital literacy education, program coordination, and community outreach, Pedro is passionate about empowering underrepresented students and building meaningful connections between institutions and the communities they serve. His career reflects a consistent dedication to access and equity in education, from mentoring high school students through TRIO programs to helping adult learners navigate the digital landscape. Pedro is excited to continue his journey at NEIU El Centro while also continuing his education at the same institution.
