Only a few days of spring break remain before Northeastern Illinois University resumes classes ... not that it was a quiet week around the University. From research partnerships to research papers to community service planning, check out the latest from around the University.

Kate Adams was a Distinguished Student Speaker at the Graduate Recognition Ceremony of Fall 2013. She completed her M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language this past summer. She currently teaches English to international students at the Illinois Institute of Technology and is a writer and editor in educational publishing. 

When Angie Craft married in 2006, she became stepmom to an autistic boy named James. “I was scared to death,” said Craft, a social worker. “I had spent much of my working life with people who have mental illnesses and addiction problems, but I’d never been around nonverbal people before.”

Terrie Albano loves journalism and literature. She loves them so much, in fact, that she won four awards from the National Federation of Press Women for her writing and editing.
