Groundbreaking Ceremony program
The Groundbreaking Ceremony will follow the program below:
- 9:30 a.m. Ceremony opening
- 10:00 a.m. Arrival of guests
- 10:15 a.m. Opening remarks
- 10:45 a.m. Reception
- 11:30 a.m. Ceremony conclusion
Yes. The Groundbreaking Ceremony is free and open to invited guests. Please RSVP here.
Business attire is suggested. Please note that the event will take place outdoors, so we suggest wearing comfortable shoes.
Yes. The venue is fully accessible. Accommodations are available for guests with disabilities. The ceremony will be held on the building construction site at Northeastern Illinois University’s Main Campus. Navigate to 3701 West Bryn Mawr Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60625 and look for event signage and volunteers on-site to help guide you.
Complimentary parking will be available at Lots D and F. ADA-accessible parking spaces will be clearly marked.
The ceremony will last approximately 45 minutes to one hour, followed by light refreshments and networking opportunities.
Yes. Light refreshments and beverages will be available following the ceremony.
Yes. Members of the press and the University communications team will be present. By attending, guests may appear in event photos or video footage.
Due to space and security considerations, invited persons can bring up to three (3) guests. If you wish to bring someone, please include guests on your RSVP response.
The event will proceed rain or shine. In case of severe weather, updates will be communicated via email.
