Comprehensive and holistic advising for adult students. Components of the advising process include a student-directed conversation around course selection and planning, time-to-degree, navigating the university, accessing resources, balancing work and life responsibilities, graduate school selection and application, and expectations around communication styles and modes within academia. Current research interests include syntax and semantics, language change, language acquisition, metaphor, and the origins of language.
