Background

Shimelis B. Gebru got his M.A. and PhD. from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. Dr. Gebru is an anthropologist whose research interests are multifaceted, including both humans and nonhuman primates. His recent research focuses on the relationships between traditional natural resource management practices and food security in Ethiopia. Specifically how the introduction of new technologies, programs and policies affect traditional livelihood practices as well as food security, nutrition and heath outcomes of highland farmers and lowland pastoralists.
