Student Transition Services (STS) assists students with a successful academic and social transition to University life and beyond by providing programs and services that:

  • create a progressive learning environment and a sense of belonging 
  • enhance student success 
  • encourage student engagement and civic leadership
  • increase degree attainment 

Our Programs and Student Impact

WENTWORTH SCHOLARS PROGRAM

The Wentworth Scholars Program offers unique opportunities for students to learn, lead, and achieve. They will have access to services and learning opportunities to help them achieve success at Northeastern Illinois University and beyond.

SUMMER TRANSITION PROGRAM

In order to enhance student success and increase degree attainment, the Summer Transition Program (STP) prepares first-year admitted students for Northeastern Illinois University college level coursework. STP develps the skills needed when beginning classes in the fall semeter and builds a foundation for a successful academic and social transition.

STUDENT WELCOME PROGRAMS

Student Transition Services assists all students with a successful academic and social transition to Northeastern. By coordinating welcome programs and activities, we create a sense of belonging and encourage student engagement.

ASK ME! CAMPAIGN

Student Transition Services coordinates the ASK ME! campaign during the first week of the fall and spring semesters. This program is intended to enhance support for new and returning students by promoting a welcoming environment with the help of Northeastern’s faculty, administration, staff, and student organizations.
