NEIU looks forward to welcoming back students as part of the phased return plan from the COVID-19 pandemic in a safe, controlled environment.
For the Fall 2020 semester, the Student Union and Ronald Williams Library will offer students individual study spaces with access to Wi-Fi, computers and copier/scanner/printers. A color copier/scanner/printer will be available in the Ronald Williams Library only.
Students may reserve a two-hour block for use of either the Student Union or Ronald Williams Library, as there are a limited amount of spaces in each building. Please note that students may extend their time in the Student Union if there is space available.
While in the Student Union or Ronald Williams Library, students must abide by the following terms and conditions at all times:
- Face coverings/masks must be worn at all times
- Must observe social/physical distance of at least six feet from any other person
- No moving of any furniture
- Wipe down surface/computer/copier with a disinfectant wipe prior to and following use
- Remain on the first floor of the Ronald Williams Library only
- Remain on first or second floor of the Student Union only; do not enter other buildings
- Limit two hours per person
Northeastern Illinois University reserves the right to ask any student who does not abide by these terms/conditions to leave the building at any time.
Students currently registered for the Fall 2020 semester may reserve a study space in the Student Union (10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday). To request a semi-quiet individual or small group (up to four people) study space in the Student Union, please complete a Student Union Study Space Request Form to reserve a date and time. A separate request form should be submitted for each date/time a student wants access to a study space.
Students may also request use of the Meditation and Reflection Room (one student per 30-minute time slot) by completing the Student Union Study Space Request Form above.
Students currently registered for the Fall 2020 semester may reserve a study space in the Ronald Williams Library (10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday). To request a quiet, individual study space in the Ronald Williams Library, please complete a Main Library Study Space Request Form to reserve a date and time. A separate request form should be submitted for each date/time a student wants access to a study space.
The Ronald Williams Library continues to offer Grab and Go services for physical library items.
