Spirit Week, Sept. 11-18

Northeastern Illinois University’s Student Leadership Development (SLD) welcomes everyone back to NEIU! SLD encourages you to make connections with fellow students, student organizations and University departments. Show off your NEIU spirit by attending any of these free events:

Fun Fair at CCICS

Saturday, Sept. 11
Noon-3 p.m.

Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies, 700 E. Oakwood Blvd.

Check out NEIU’s South Side location. There will be food, games, music and much more in store.  

Water Balloon fight

Tuesday, Sept. 14
3 p.m.
University Commons

Join a massive water balloon fight on the University Commons (grassy space in front of the Ronald Williams Library). Arrive at 3 p.m. to be assigned a team. Sign-up is recommended to ensure you receive the right T-shirt size. 

Ice cream social & BUBBLE SOCCER

What's better than ice cream? Ice cream with friends of course! Come enjoy a sweet treat with other NEIU students and play a fun game of bubble soccer.

Student organization olympics

As part of Spirit Week SLD is holding a Student Organization Olympics on the University Commons. There will be a variety of activities for organizations to participate in for points. Each team must have three people. Each organization can only have one team. Don't worry, most activities are non athletic. Prizes are $400 for 1st Place, $250 for 2nd Place, $100 for 3rd Place. Money will go directly into the student organization's earned income account. Sign-up by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15 to participate. 

Meet the media: Que4 Radio Director and Founder John Ibarra

NEIU Student Media welcomes local radio and multimedia producer John Ibarra. Ibarra will discuss how he founded QUE4 Radio and answer questions about being in the radio industry.

The Independent, SEEDS, WZRD and Que Ondee Sola are all seeking new participants!
