Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his commitment to diversity, inclusion and serving our community, while maintaining COVID-19 guidelines, members of the Northeastern community, in collaboration with Student Leadership Development, volunteered to record themselves reading a culturally diverse children's books. Our hope is that our children can hear stories that they see themselves in or opens their minds to new cultures.

Please enjoy these recordings as our way of celebrating Dr. King's life and legacy as well as honoring his vision of a beloved community.

Surviving College: The Hip Hop Stageplay

"Surviving College" is hilariously dramatic hip hop stageplay, which delivers gems and nuggets of inspiration and motivation through an interactive and engaging college survival guide. The 60-90 minute play combines hip hop, pop culture references, and social media to paint very realistic scenarios that college students face daily. It addresses everything they want to know about good decision making, getting involved, and not putting themselves in bad situations.

Enjoy unique fun and games by competing with fellow students at NEIU and two other universities! Make new friends while playing Family Feud, Jeopardy, & The Logo Game over multiple entertaining rounds. If that isn’t enough to be excited about, two winners get to take home an awesome prize! Join on your laptop (preferred) or smartphone with or without your camera on to comfortably play in hilarious small group settings. The entire event is managed by Switchboard Games who will make sure this is a one-of-a-kind experience you’ll never forget!
