Grood Music is the roof under which the following bands abide: Grood, Babe-alon 5, This Must be the Band, DJ noDJ, Dance Tribute and Old Timey. All these projects are maintained by Kasey Foster and Charles Otto. Everything they produce follows the three guidelines of their mission statement, more or less: Embrace the strange, employ mistakes and catch the falling fruit. This performance features an electro pop music duo.
Samuel J. Lewis II: Puppetry Dealing with Topics of Race
Samuel J. Lewis II has performed in several puppetry festivals, held workshops for Chicago Public School students, and worked as a Teaching Resident with Elastic and Redmoon Theater Company. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of Elastic Arts and I AM Logan Square and was a founder and board member of the Logan Square Chamber of Arts. Lewis has worked to enrich the tremendous arts scene in Chicago. His credits include AFTRA voice-work, acting in several theater productions, commercials, and films. He created and curates the Hip-Hop and Dark Matter Series at Elastic. He was a founder of the Logan Square Arts Festival and A Day In Avondale. Marvin Tate is a multidisciplinary artist and educator. In his many incarnations (poet, talk-show host, performance artist, time traveler, soul agitator, singer-songwriter and funk-meister), Tate has worn many hats in his twenty-plus year career. He often calls upon all of his alter-egos to help him discover new foundation, with help from musical guests including: Mike Reed, Greg Ward, Ben Lamar Gay, Tatsu Akoi, Dave Boykin, Matt L, Khari Lemuel (The Black Monks of Mississippi), Dan Bitney, Fred Lonberg Holms, P. Michael (Ono), George Blaize (D-Settlement), Adam Fitz, Avery R. Young and Angel Bat Dawid to name a few.
Tate's art also has been exhibited at Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art, one of the premier museums in the world dedicated to presenting self-taught art and 5-Points Art Gallery and Studio in Milwaukee, Wis. Marvin Tate is represented by White Color Productions.
