Front Desk Staff are undergraduate or graduate student workers who are selected based on their customer-service and interpersonal-communication skills as they are the first point of contact for our students. They should also be able to multitask and complete a variety of office duties.

Requirements of the Position

  • Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming environment for students
  • Schedule and modify student appointments
  • Direct students to appropriate services available at the LSC
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Learning Success Center Director or Assistant Director/ Office Faculty

Expected Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • General office-work knowledge: filing, copying, scanning, printing, and organizing
  • General knowledge of computer programs: email, Microsoft Office¬†and Google Drive

How to Qualify

Undergraduate student applicants must meet NEIU Office of Student Employment requirements for student aides:

  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
  • Must be able to complete Form I-9 before the beginning of the semester
  • Must meet all other requirements stipulated by The Office of Student Employment, such as attending Student Employment Orientation and providing tax forms and NEIU schedule and account information
