Due to health and safety concerns related to COVID-19, the University has canceled all large gatherings until further notice. While it is unclear how this will affect the May Commencement ceremonies, we know that the Academic Honors Ceremony is no longer scheduled to proceed. We will update this message when new information becomes available.

Spring 2020 Academic Honors Ceremony Information

Student Union, Event and Conference Services is pleased to host the Spring 2020 Academic Honors Ceremony.

5:30 P.M. & 7:30 P.M. thursday, april 16, 2020 ♦ NEIU Auditorium
Event is by invitation only (sent via NEIU email).

*Receptions to follow in Alumni Hall

This event is a special ceremony for undergraduate students who are graduating with Latin honors based on their current cumulative GPA. These students receive a separate invitation to attend the Academic Honors ceremony and reception. Graduates will be given medals to wear at Commencement that indicate that they are graduating with either cum laude (3.5-3.74 GPA), magna cum laude (3.75-3.89 GPA), or summa cum laude (3.9-4.0 GPA) honors.
