Coming out workshop

12:15-1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8
Request Zoom access

Oftentimes there is this expectation for individuals that are a part of the LGBTQA+ community to overcome their pain and suffering and move away from victimhood toward strength and power. It is important to recognize that not everyone has the means to overcome their pain and has a different process of coming to terms, which are not always mainstream notions of transformative or powerful. As a result, we should not only praise individuals who overcome their personal barriers and establish a powerful new identity but also celebrate those who are safely managing and expressing their barriers in covert ways as well. The purpose of this workshop is to promote the importance of this and to navigate and share among each other what acceptance, support, self-care, environment etc., looks like within the context of coming out.

Presented by Care2Prevent.
