In this role you will
Be responsible for operating PBX, and /or similar telephone switchboard equipment, or a cloud based system to answer and relay incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls. The Telephone Operator I is an Entry Level position reporting to the Associate Director for Student Union, Event and Conference Services who reports to the Executive Director for Student Union and Campus Recreation.
To be successful in this role, qualified applicants will have the following responsibilities
Demonstrates a commitment to the mission of Northeastern Illinois University and demonstrates a service orientation and adheres to all responsibilities and standards of the University. Demonstrates professional and customer service-oriented behavior in all situations, including manner of communication, appearance and responsibility. Primary responsibility for this individual is answering the main switchboard and assisting callers to get to the correct individual or college, department, and or unit at NEIU. Provides customer service and general information to callers related to the appropriate university offices or services desired. Operates manual parts of telephone exchange system and/or cloud-based delivery to connect incoming, outgoing, and inter-agency calls. Performs other duties as assigned.
Hours
Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Hours may vary depending on departmental needs)
