Full Time, Continuing Position

Under general supervision of the Executive Director of Institutional Research and Assessment, the Senior Analyst (Specialist) is an integral part of the project team responsible for the collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and disseminating data and information about the university in response to federal, state and institutional data reporting requirements. These include managing survey research from inception to analysis, analyzing university data for internal and external constituents, and producing ad hoc reports for the Executive Director of Institutional Research and Assessment and other senior administrators.

The Senior Analyst (Specialist) reports to the Executive Director of Institutional Research and Assessment, who reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs/Provost. The Senior Analyst (Specialist) is responsible for managing administration of annual Alumni Surveys and biennial administration of NSSE survey. The Senior Analyst (Specialist) will also be responsible for monitoring response rates, supervising data entry, and producing reports.

The Senior Analyst (Specialist) will also conduct all other in-house surveys of internal constituents, coordinate analysis and reporting for Illinois Board of Higher Education and Complete College America, and conduct all analysis and reporting for College of Education accreditation requirements and Illinois State Comptroller's Office.

The Senior Analyst (Specialist) will supervise graduate students for work related to the alumni surveys and NSSE survey, and GIS intern on ArcGIS projects. The Senior Analyst (Specialist) will also supervise ArcGIS analysis, and will perform other related duties as assigned by the executive director.


A Master’s degree and 3 years work experience in institutional research in higher education OR a Bachelor’s degree and 6 years work experience in institutional research in higher education is required. Proficiency in SPSS also required. Experience with Cognos and ArcGIS highly preferred. Applicants must have strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative research environment. Other preferred skills and abilities include knowledge of quantitative research design, data analysis, and survey methodology.

Salary and Benefits Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
