Office Administrator

Teacher Education (TED) and Special Education (SPED)

 

Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent

 

  • Forty-eight  months of clerical/office support work experience comparable to that  performed at the Office Support Specialist level or in other positions of comparable responsibility

 

                                                                                          OR

 

  • Twenty-four months of clerical/office support work experience comparable to that  performed at the Office Manager level or in other positions of comparable responsibility

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES NEEDED TO UNDERTAKE JOB:

  1. Ability to analyze and develop office guidelines, procedures, and systems
  2. Ability to select and develop appropriate criteria methods and procedures to be utilized in order to solve problems
  3. Skill in oral and written communication
  4. Ability to utilize various software packages
  5. Supervisory and administrative ability

 

Salary:

$18.25 - $19.25 per hour

 

Hours:

Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Hours may vary depending on departmental needs)

Responsibilities:

Under administrative supervision, this position serves the Department of Teacher Education (TED) and the Department of Special Education (SPED) performing a wide variety of tasks which require the use of independent judgement and initiative.  A knowledge of the university, departments, programs, practices and procedures is essential to the performance of duties.  Independently works as administrative support for the chairs when needed; maintain smooth functioning of the departments; incumbent is a skilled problem solver; able to assist students and faculty to reach resolution.
