Northeastern Illinois University, located in Chicago, Illinois, invites applications for the position of Manager of Donor Engagement and Events in the Development Department.
The Manager of Donor Engagement and Events is Institutional Advancement’s chief stewardship officer, chief events manager and a member of the Development team. The Manager provides strategic stewardship, event planning and recognition support for the offices of Development and Alumni Relations in order to cultivate meaningful, lifelong relationships with Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) donors and to ensure excellent donor experiences.
In collaboration with the Development team, the Manager will plan, coordinate and execute all fundraising and philanthropic events including but not limited to large-scale fundraisers such as the annual gala, recognition activities for high-level giving societies, campaign kick-off/closing events and more.
The Manager will oversee and execute personalized gift acknowledgements on a weekly basis, including coordination and stewardship communications to be completed by the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and University President. The Manager will also coordinate weekly communications with external stakeholders and messages shared on the NEIU Foundation’s social media channels. On an annual basis, the Manager will work with Advancement colleagues to coordinate endowment reports to donors and content for the President’s Report. The Manager will provide unit-specific consultation, upon request, for University units pursuing special fundraising projects.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
- Four years of experience in the following areas: development /fundraising especially with donor stewardship, event planning, marketing, and communications
- Knowledge of the fundraising cycle
- Project coordination/management experience
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to manage complex environments, prioritize, manage, and delegate responsibilities for multiple projects
- Ability to work effectively with staff, faculty, students, volunteers, and senior administration
